Celebrating Thanksgiving in My Family
Thanksgiving is a special holiday in my family. It is a time when we come together to express gratitude and create lasting memories. Our Thanksgiving traditions have been passed down through generations, and they hold a special place in our hearts.
One of our favorite traditions is preparing a Thanksgiving feast. My mom spends days planning and cooking a delicious meal for our entire family. The smell of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie fills the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We all gather in the kitchen to help with the preparations, each of us with a specific task. It is a time for bonding and teamwork.
Another tradition we have is sharing what we are thankful for. Before we start eating, we go around the table and each person expresses their gratitude. It is a beautiful moment filled with heartfelt words and emotions. We often laugh and cry as we listen to each other's stories of appreciation. This tradition reminds us of the importance of gratitude and strengthens our family bonds.
After our meal, we engage in various activities. Some of us play board games, while others watch football on television. We also take the time to go for a walk in the neighborhood or play outdoor games, weather permitting. These activities bring us closer together and create cherished memories that we will always treasure.
Lastly, we participate in acts of giving back to our community. My family believes in the importance of helping those in need, especially during the holiday season. We volunteer at local soup kitchens, donate food and clothing to shelters, and participate in fundraising events. It is a way for us to express our gratitude by giving back to others.
In conclusion, Thanksgiving is a special time in my family. We cherish our traditions and use this holiday as an opportunity to express gratitude and create lasting memories. It is a time for togetherness, appreciation, and giving back. I am grateful for the love and warmth that surrounds me during this holiday and throughout the year.

以下是®为大家整理的关于关于感恩节初中英语作文的文章,希望大家能够喜欢!Thanksgiving Day is the most truly American of the national Holidays in the United States and is most closely connected with the earliest history of the country.
In 1620, the settlers, or Pilgrims, they sailed to America on the May flower, seeking a place where they could have freedom of worship. After a tempestuous two-month voyage they landed at in icy November, what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts.
During their first winter, over half of the settlers died of[1] starvation or epidemics. Those who survived began sowing in the first spring.
All summer long they waited for the harvests with great anxiety, knowing that their lives and the future existence of the colony depended on the coming harvest. Finally the fields produced a yield rich beyond expectations. And therefore it was decided that a day of thanksgiving to the Lord be fixed[2]. Years later, President of the United States proclaimed the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day every year. The celebration of Thanksgiving Day has been observed on that date until today.
The pattern of the Thanksgiving celebration has never changed through the years. The big family dinner is planned months ahead. On the dinner table, people will find apples, oranges, chestnuts, walnuts and grapes. There will be plum pudding, mince pie, other varieties of food and cranberry juice and squash. The best and most attractive among them are roast turkey and pumpkin pie. They have been the most traditional and favorite food on Thanksgiving Day throughout the years.
Everyone agrees the dinner must be built around roast turkey stuffed with a bread dressing[3] to absorb the tasty juices as it roasts. But as cooking varies with families and with the regions where one lives, it is not easy to get a consensus on[4] the precise kind of stuffing for the royal bird.
Thanksgiving today is, in every sense, a national annual holiday on which Americ
ans of all faiths and backgrounds join in to express their thanks for the year' s bounty and reverently ask for continued blessings.
